Exploring the good life audio tour allows you to explore paintings that are on display at the Harn Museum. “Scene on Snake Gulf Coast” by Herman Herzog, created in 1910 is the painting that grabbed my attention. This painting displays what appears to be a storm boiling over a man in a red coat and his dog. Although it looks like a storm is approaching, the two of them look like they are about to go for a peaceful walk underneath the dark skies. The wind is blowing through the beautiful pine trees as they are all being forced in one direction. There are trees in the distant, as if there is a beach in between the fields of trees.

This painting is also displayed on the Harn Museum website (www.harn.ufl.edu) as a modern collection. There are acres on top of acres of land that are covered with beautiful spirit-lifting flowers with a few shade-spots from the trees. The colors in this painting symbolize my current feelings about my life. I’m happy with my life and the people in it but there is always room for improvement, which is being symbolized by the dark shaded areas. This painting is bright and vibrant, other than the dark bold trees which are like those of the summer days.
