I had to create an original photo and analyze it, as I did before with the Herman Herzog painting. This photograph is of a lake that sits on the University of Florida Campus. The Lake is now known as Lake Alice. It’s a great place to go for a walk and site-seeing after a stressful day of classes. The water is calm, the trees and plants appear to have so much life and are filled with leaves. This image sends off a calm and relaxing feeling to me. I would say by viewing this picture, Florida is a great place to come visit if you want to see relaxing-natural landscape. I believe that Herman would be overwh
elmed with all the positive energy that comes from the Florida landscapes today. A lot of his paintings were of gloomy, leafless trees. After viewing some of his painting they were depressing and didn’t have much energy. I think my Florida artwork is better than Herman’s simply because it portrays a more neutral and relaxing message versus sad and gloomy. Even though t
hey are from different time frames, Herman’s and I images are detailed, unique and has a significant meaning that it projects to its viewers.
